Wizards of Ox is a society, not a service. Members meet every month, share what they know, test new material on each other and put on events that bring magic to wider audiences. Some of us perform for a living. Some of us invent. Some of us collect, study or simply love watching a good trick land.
As a member you get a warm welcome at every meetup, access to lectures and workshops, the chance to collaborate on shows, and a listing in our member directory if you perform. More than anything, you get a community that wants to see your magic get better.
You do not need to be experienced. You do not need to be a professional. You need to love magic and be generous with it. That is the whole entry requirement.
Fellowship membership includes access to scheduled gatherings and selected members' events at Cedar Hollow Oxford. It does not provide unrestricted access to the accommodation, pool or private guest areas. Cedar Hollow remains a working retreat, so access outside those occasions must be arranged separately.
Once a month, aboard the bus at Cedar Hollow Oxford. See the events page for the next date, then just turn up and say hello.
Watch, chat, show us a trick if you like. See whether the room feels like home. We think it will.
Tell us you would like to join and we will take care of the rest, including your directory listing if you perform.
Can't make a meetup yet? Email us about membership and we will get back to you.
Anyone who loves magic and is generous with it: performers, hobbyists, inventors, collectors, students and families. No professional experience is required and beginners are welcome.
No. Inventors, collectors and serious students of magic are as much a part of the Fellowship as working performers.
A warm welcome at every meetup, access to lectures and workshops, the chance to collaborate on shows, and a directory listing if you perform.
Once a month, aboard the vintage double-decker at Cedar Hollow Oxford. The next date is always on the events page.
We will reply by email, invite you along to a meetup and take care of the rest, including your directory listing if you perform.
A written code of conduct covering how we look after each other, our audiences and the secrets of the craft is being prepared with members and will be published on the resources page.
The best time to join a society is while it is being built. Come and leave your fingerprints on this one.
